Henkel and Schwarzkopf Professional launch the first Shaping Futures initiative in Riyadh to empower Saudi women with hairdressing skills.

For the first time in the GCC, the Schwarzkopf Professional Shaping Futures initiative has launched in Riyadh. In partnership with the Al Nahda Philanthropic Society for Women, this global social impact program is equipping Saudi women with professional hairdressing skills and the confidence to build lasting careers in the beauty industry.

Empowering Local Talent

Following participant interviews in July, the inaugural Saudi Arabia edition of Shaping Futures officially launched on August 2nd, 2026, with a cohort of 25 participants. The program is designed to give back to the communities where Henkel operates by supporting underprivileged talent. By partnering with Al Nahda, an organization specialized in developing the capacities of Saudi women, the initiative focuses heavily on vocational training, financial support guidance, and clear paths to employment.

Comprehensive Industry Training

The Riyadh program spans three months and includes 39 dedicated training days running every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Participants attend these sessions to build technical expertise alongside the professionalism and employability needed for the beauty sector.

The intensive curriculum covers a wide range of essential topics. Participants receive hands-on training in consultation and customer service, hair and scalp analysis, color theory and application, cutting, styling, salon hygiene, communication skills, and personal branding.

Expert Guidance and Inspiration

Training is delivered by a roster of Schwarzkopf Professional educators and industry experts. The teaching team includes Pola, Roland Abi Karam, Tara Rose, and Lesley Jennison, who serves as the Global Color Ambassador for Schwarzkopf Professional.

They are joined by a lineup of guest speakers featuring Thouraya Badra, Hind Al Khudairy, Ruth Bocock, Elma Al Arab, and Mama Aisha. These guests bring empowering messages and share inspirational stories from their own careers, showcasing the many different ways to become a successful hairdresser.

Looking Ahead to Graduation

The program will run through the fall, culminating on November 8th, 2026. On this day, participants will take part in a dedicated showcase and graduation event to officially celebrate their achievements and step forward into their new careers.
